As Soulmates, The Sun and The Moon

We are forever restless
We sit waiting breathless again, and again
Realizing we’re relentless with giving in

& I tell him “I’m content with me and you
as soulmates, the sun, and the moon
& if all that we’re destined to do
is meet & kiss, every now & again in eclipse
Then I’d have no resentment towards you.”

So, when he replies that his love for me
“Is an ocean wide & an ocean deep”

I realize, if all this is true
If destined for me and for you-
as soulmates, the sun and the moon-
then in our eclipse, when we do meet and kiss
Just imagine the waves we’d produce.
